N-HEPTANOIC ACID

Oleris® n-Heptanoic Acid is a 100% linear chain saturated odd-numbered fatty acid of vegetable origin, processed from castor oil, with a purity of ≥99%. It has a negative carbon footprint (ISO 14067) and is readily biodegradable, achieving 94.4% degradation within four days (OECD Test Guideline 301 A). Primarily used as a chemical intermediate, it serves as a 100% bio-based and renewable building block, offering properties like high purity, linearity, and low viscosity. Applications include polyol esters for high-performance synthetic lubricants (aviation, transformers, refrigerant oils, dielectric fluids), corrosion inhibitors in OAT-based protection systems, engine oils, metal working fluids and antifreeze fluids.
