NATROVIS E 50000 PR
Natrovis hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC), a nonionic water-soluble polymer, is a white, free-flowing granular
powder. Natrovis HEC is insoluble in organic solvents, yet it is easily dispersed in cold and hot water to give
solutions of varying viscosities. Chemically, it is a cellulose that has been etherified with hydroxyethyl HEC
groups to give the desired properties.
Natrovis HEC is used as a thickener for many pasty building materials such as dispersion based tile adhesives
(D1/D2), ready-to-use plasters and skim coats, wall putties, as well as waterborne decorative coatings. It
also is very suitable for stabilizing underwater concrete.
Below types are available in easy-dispersing form (retarded powder), designated “PR”.
These “PR materials” have been treated to delay hydration of the particle and thus prevent lumping as the
dry powder is added to neutral or slightly acidic water. The viscosity builds quickly upon raising pH value to
above 7.
