LOXIOL EP 8578

LOXIOL EP 8578 is a long-chain ester of pentaerythritol used as a processing agent for various types of thermoplastics. In the injection molding of polycarbonate, PET, PBT, PMMA and polyacetal melt it prevents from sticking to hot machine parts and facilitates mold release at higher temperatures, making it possible to use molds with complex geometry. LOXIOL EP 8578 improves feed behavior, prevents granule melting in the feed zone, and improves filling speed - enhancing surface properties of finished products. It remains transparent and color stable in amounts between 0.1-0.5% for PC and PMMA. LOXIOL EP 8578 may also be used as an antiblock additive for biaxially oriented polyester films, improving abrasion resistance. Commonly added in 0.2-1.0% dosages depending on internal/external lubricant use, LOXIOL EP 8578 benefits advanced material processing and production by enabling more intricate mold designs, optimizing material flow, and creating higher quality end products.
